Rebates

The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District, in a joint-effort program with California American Water, offers rebates for various pre-qualified water conserving appliances. 

The Rebate Program was was updated on January 1, 2010 by Ordinance No. 140. Please review the rebate application below for more information about this exciting program, and remember to check this page often for changes and updates.

NOTE: For specific permit requirements please contact District staff for assistance, 658-5601.

Other appliances that are not listed in the above documents may qualify for the MPWMD Ultra-Low Flow standards. If you are aware of unlisted machines that meet MPWMD requirements, please submit water use capacity specifications (from the manufacturer) for the specific model number of the appliances for District review and possible addition to these pre-qualified listings.  The District does not endorse any specific brand or model.

Cash for Grass NEW!!!!

As of January 1, 2010, MPWMD now offers a program to rebate for lawn removal and synthetic turf installation. The “Cash for Grass” program was created by Ordinance No. 140.

To qualify for rebate your lawn must meet the District definition of a lawn. Follow the steps below to receive your rebate.

ü Submit a Rebate Application to the District.

ü      Provide a Site plan of the current landscaping; include detailed                     measurements of the turf area.

ü      Provide a Site plan showing the area and what will be installed in place of the turf.

ü      Schedule an inspection of the lawn area, call 831.658.5601 to secure a date.

ü      Allow a second inspection once lawn replacement has been done.

ü      Sign Notice and Deed Restriction for Limitation of Use of Water pertaining to Lawn Removal and Replacement for recordation on the property title.
